REPORT: 2017 ISSF World Shotgun Championships in Moscow

A great effort by our 2 Juniors in Jack Wallace and Mitchell Iles.

After a very tense final, Jack held his nerve to claim a bronze medal while Mitchell finished 5th respectively. This was after both shooters entered the final with the highest qualifying score, 121/125.

Jack and Mitch also teamed with Adam Bylsma from QLD and collected the gold medal in the teams match!

Well done Jack and Mitch, you have both done MGC and your country proud!!!

UPDATE: Free Junior Noms

The Melbourne Gun Club Committee advises the following:

As of October 2017, a small change will take place concerning Junior noms and prizes at the Melbourne Gun Club for regular Saturday afternoon competitions.

All Junior shooters under the age of 18 (regardless of which club they are a member of) will still receive free nominations for ALL weekly club competitions (unless specified in ACTA magazine and MGC website). However any prize money won by a Junior shooter on the day, will then have the entry fee for that particular event deducted, from their prize payout.

CLUB RESULTS: 26/08/2017

As always, a note of appreciation to all those who assisted on the day and to those who travelled to support the program.

Boys and their Toys

Deciding that due to the ever increasing popularity of the Melbourne Gun Club, and the need for more parking space, Dallas Ball, Darryl Johnston , Geoff & Lachlie Shore thought they may spend some time “freshening up” the ground space.

MGC President, Roger Esplin agreed to their idea of a general tidy up, 'Boys and their Toys' and a 'general clean up' was an understatement as the following photos will show.

From the Committee and Members to Dallas, Geoff, Darryl, Lachie, Roger & Frank, sincere appreciation for the hard work and time given to make this major improvement to the club grounds.

Further improvements to the garden areas is on the drawing board, hopefully soon.

The majority of the team then travelled to Todi in Italy to compete in the Italian Cup. Here Jack shot an amazing 119/125 to better his PB by 13 targets!!! Thomas Armstrong also qualified first with Jack on 119.
